Director Igor Šeregi and his team are coming to Blend to share the story behind the making of the most-watched Croatian film of all time. Although audiences only discovered the film last year, its development took almost a decade – from the initial idea and securing financing to the start of production.

Today, Svadba is a film that has broken the Croatian pre-sales record, achieved the best opening for a domestic film in history, and, with more than 800,000 admissions in Croatian cinemas, become the undisputed record-holder of Croatian cinema. At the same time, the film has grown into a major regional phenomenon, attracting more than 2.3 million viewers.

The panel will explore the film’s decade-long journey from the initial idea to the big screen, as well as the creative and production challenges encountered along the way. A special part of the conversation will focus on the upcoming sequel, Svadba 2, which is currently in production, giving the audience a first-hand look at how preparations are progressing for the film’s next chapter.
