Max Sacker

Filmmaker, Immersive Director & AI Filmmaking Consultant

Max Sacker is a German filmmaker, immersive director and real-time artist working at the intersection of cinema, interactive storytelling and emerging technology.

His projects include Kobold and Pagan Peak VR, presented at Venice, and The Vortex Cinema, selected for the XR Experience Competition at SXSW 2024. His latest project, Octopocalypse, co-directed with Arite Szadkowski, premiered in competition at Venice Immersive during the 83rd Venice International Film Festival.

Octopocalypse is an interactive film created entirely using generative AI, exploring AI not as a replacement for filmmakers, but as a new toolset for human creativity. Max’s work focuses on how generative AI, real-time technology and immersive media can expand the possibilities of filmmaking, visual effects and cinematic storytelling.

He is currently working as an AI filmmaking consultant for Biennale College Cinema and develops new AI-driven and immersive projects through Luma Octo.
